Description

Spring is here! Own a stunning 1962 VW Karmann Ghia convertible with very low mileage. The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Type 14 was in production from 1955-1974 and combined the chassis and mechanicals of the Type 1 Beetle with styling by Luigi Segre of one of Italy's most famous automobile design companies, Carrozzeria Ghia and hand-built bodywork by German coach-builder Karmann. Manufactured in Hungary and then imported to Germany and eventually by me to the UK. One owner (me) since it's full restoration. Rust free, imported LHD from Frankfurt in 2022. First registered in the UK in January 2023. Nut and bolt restoration about 13 years ago. Has been stored in a showroom in Germany since. After import it has been stored in my dry barn as seen in the background of some of the pictures. Never driven in the rain or over salt. Easily a show winner but not concourse yet (and I hope you will take this as the honest advert this is) as it has some minor projects like the driver seat vinyl, passenger seat mechanism, very few tiny paint defects, and minor headliner tear - hence the low cost for the mileage. This car is a beautiful cruiser or update project if you want to modify the brakes or engine/suspension, but I have kept it original. It gets a lot of attention at shows where it has been trailered to events. Comes with a waterproof bespoke car cover, all import documentation and two sets of keys. It has been lovingly maintained and serviced personally. Battery is 6V, spare tire in front is intact, no rust in sills, battery tray, nose or the usual places. Working period radio and antenna, cream and tan interior, cherry-red paint. Has been on the cover of Karmann-Komment and featured in the magazine (copies available from KGOC - the Karmann Ghia Owners Club of Great Britain). White-wall tyres, stunning chrome, no stone-chip marks on nose. Starts first time, compatible with non-premium unleaded petrol. Please note that the photos under the chassis were taken in 2022 but you are welcome to creep under the car in order to inspect it.
