Sadly time for a new adventure with a new owner.
I have owned the car for 2 years now purchased at 68400 miles after moving local to my work and relinquishing my company car.
In my ownership the car has performed faultlessly and is very reliable, a joy to drive and returning 40mpg around town! Cheap to insure, cheap to tax and Ulez zone exempt.
This is not to say I haven't looked after the car, in the 12,000 miles of my ownership I have spent a fortune on the car addressing all the common ailments these cars have to make it 100% reliable, being an ex mechanic I am OCD ! See below:
New timing chain, tensioners, chain guides and timing gears (all genuine Mini parts)
New water pump and pulleys genuine parts
New drive belt and tensioner genuine parts
Both front coil springs after one broke
New front brake disc and pads approx 6 months ago
New rear discs and pads about 8 months ago
New rear callipers at the same time
New front o/s wheel bearing this month
3 x oil and filter changes in 12,000 miles using Castrol oil as Mini specifies
Spark plugs and air replaced less than 6,000 miles ago.
Runs how a Mini should and needs nothing, everything works no faults.
