Description
BMW 1 Series - 118I Rare 2L Auto
For sale is my BMW 118I 1 Series with the rare automatic 2L engine. The car drives smoothly, runs well, & has been exceptionally reliable. I spent a long time searching for this exact specification to ensure I got the best example possible. I've owned it for over 8 years, purchasing it at 17,000 miles, meaning most of it's mileage has been done under my careful ownership.
Maintenance & Service History
Full-service history, maintained annually by a trusted independent garage.
Previously serviced by BMW dealerships before my ownership.
Comes with a large stack of receipts detailing all work carried out.
Timing chain replaced by BMW under recall in 2021, so no concerns about stretching or failure.
The car has never let me down & remains a joy to drive.
Condition & Exterior
For its age & mileage, the car is in good condition with no rust, major dents, or accident history. There are some minor cosmetic marks, all easy to rectify & touch up if desired.
Light scuffs/marks on the front & rear bumpers plus skirts & one wing mirror
Small ding on the front spoiler.
Stone chip near the petrol cap.
Wheels & Interior
Alloy wheels in good/fine condition, not perfect but presentable.
Four Bridgestone Turanza tyres, relatively new with plenty of tread.
Interior is in excellent condition for its age.
Includes two keys & all original manuals & paperwork.
Minor Issues (Reflected in Price)
A few minor faults, that I have just lived with.
Rear windscreen wiper works intermittently - a simple inexpensive fix.
Engine warning light: This is due to fuel injectors not matching BMW's strict parameters. Both a BMW specialist & my independent garage have checked them, & they function well. The engine runs smoothly, accelerates well, & still achieves 35 MPG when driven enthusiastically. The injectors are only an issue if they misfire, which has never happened.
Brake warning light: Related to the servo assist master cylinder, which does not meet BMW's strict specifications. It has been checked & works fine. If it were to fail, the brakes would still function, just without servo assistance. A replacement is inexpensive, but since it operates correctly, I have not replaced it.
Airbag & seat warning lights: Have been checked and confirmed as non-issues.
Pricing & Contact
This has been a trustworthy, well-maintained car that has never let me down. Without these minor issues, I would list it much higher, so I believe what I'm asking is a fair price.
