Description
Private sale of my Mazda mx5. Very honest sale with plenty of information and photos. Please read. Beautiful little runner and very reluctant sale. Soon to be a sort after Classic and value ever increasing. Limited edition Icon with lots of receipts and service.
It's a lovely fun car and great to drive with the roof down in the sun.
Only 4 owners from new, service history stamps from Mazda main dealer and book stamped to 60,000 miles. As a car enthusiast I have kept it serviced since then to current 83,000.
Everything still works as it should.
Electric windows, electric mirrors, central locking, CD radio stereo and retracting electric aerial, power steering, 6 speed manual gears, alarm, immobiliser, cream leather seats and interior, 5 spoke alloys wheels, metallic purple, white speedo dials, 2 keys. Everything is original. The engine starts in all weathers and is very reliable. It has been kept in good condition, no pets, none smoker and runs well and is still very pokey and quick. Only used as a second car for fun on weekends. It drives and handles well and gives you an exciting, thrilling ride the way a roadster should. It has no mechanical faults and does not leak oil and has a good dry engine.
Just to be clear and honest this car is a year 2000 model so it isn't brand new show room condition but a very good example of a well maintained car. Obviously it is a sporty drive so it does have the odd rattle when you rev it as the suspension is sporty, low and hard but it all adds to the excitement of the drive.
The body does have age related wear and tear as expected. This includes some chips, scuffs and scratches to the body, some minor cosmetic rust and corrosion to the sill and a small spot on the wheel arch but on a hole still solid and not structural. There is a bump on the rear bumper that has cracked the lacker and paint but I have left this as is. See picture. There is a scratch on the drivers door but this may buff out with t cut.
Good tyres and brakes.
The roof could do with replacing as it has a few cracks and holes. This is pretty standard with any old Mazda but they can be easily replaced. I keep it under a cover or you could patch the holes.
Mechanically the roof lifts up and down exactly as it should. Personally I always put the roof down. It's not a Lamborghini but it really makes you feel like you're driving one. It's a real head turner and lots of fun to drive on a budget. Classic insurance and good on fuel.
Thanks
