Come for a test drive! Here is my well kept MX-5, which I have had stock since 2020. Since then, I have installed a Bofi Racing TD04 kit, and spend countless years fine tuning this beast to handle both road and track. It has also had many many retunes and dyno runs to perfect the HP without sending into rod bending territory. In the Engine bay: ME442 With Wideband controller Forge twin-piston BOV TD04 FIC 650cc injectors MAC boost controller solenoid G19 Manifold and Downpipe (2.5") 230mm intercooler NGK Iridium induction spark plugs TD04 waterline kit TD04 oil feed kit TD04 oil drain kit TD04 gasket set Intake air temperature sensor Pre-clocked TD04-13T turbocharger Eight Nine EGR blanking kit MAF loom to IAT connector RamAir Filter Exedy Clutch (good for 500bhp) 200pci Sports Cat In the cab: Turbosmart Boost guage KODE limited edition adoniser steering wheel with adapter IL motorsport sequential sidelights Recent work: Full head skim and gasket (over sized to run lower compression ratio) K&N Oil, filter, Ram air air filter, coolant, brake fluid clutch fluid (redline) and brake bleed, transmission fluid, differential fluid Fuel filter All brake pads (Roddingsons) Tires changed on MOT (running TOYO PROXIES) Welding done to the sills on the MOT Sports cat installed Chrome mirrors and door handles Speakers upgrades to Sony Bluetooth adapter Stereo installed New battery Cons: Needs to run premium petrol on the safer side of knocking. I have never tried to run it on normal, as I didn't fancy the possibility of blowing it up. Not very fuel efficient-as the turbo needs a rich setup (safer and less chance of knock) it doesn't get good mileage, looking at 25mpg on average Quite a creaky, loud car- if you're looking for something that's smooth to drive, this is NOT it. This is a turbo built refined piece of Japanese engineering that gets from 0-60 in 5 seconds. as it is quite old, there are many parts that show the old age creakiness character. People won't leave you alone- people just love to talk about this car, they love the colour, the sound, the style, and the driver will not get left alone. To sum up, this car will bring more joy to you than holding your firstborn for the first time. More Smiles per gallon than any other ride you will ever own, and one of the single most beautiful things in this community. Easy to work on, if you need to make any changes the engine bay is huge and everything is positioned with enough space to manoeuvre.
