The P400e drivetrain consists of a 2.0 Litre turbo petrol engine and a 25-30 mile range battery/electric motor. This has a very smooth transition from electrical power to petrol engine power mostly starting off in electric only then switching to petrol when cruising speed is achieved. With a 7-8 hour three pin charge you can expect a 20 mile range (more if left overnight). This is then delivered at all speeds when throttle input is light. You can add a fist full of additional power under acceleration circa 400hp when the electric motor works with the 2.0 Litre turbo petrol to get you moving. With the battery charged a 20 mile drive will see mpg figures of 45-50mpg (higher with town driving). If you use only the petrol engine expect 25-30mpg. These are figures noted when tested here at Wallis Defenders. This makes the P400e a great short to mid range commuting vehicle providing you pop the vehicle on charge overnight, which occasionally does a long run but doesn't need recharging along the way.
