Description

If you clicked this car because you though it seemed cheap, you're right it is. But there's a reason its cheap and there is something you need to know about these cars if you're thinking of buying a used Merc E class or any of their affected diesels. Mercedes were part of the diesel gate scandal, cheating emissions tests and conning consumers. As part of a recall to address the scandal my car had a software update. However, this update was incompatible with the Nox sensors (Nitrous Oxide Sensors) Despite information on the Mercedes website to say these would be replaced as part of the recall Mercedes refused citing a service at Halfords as the main reason. The result is the car has an engine management light on which cant be removed without paying Mercedes 700 for sensors that should have been replaced under the recall. Now I love this car but as you can probably guess I hate Mercedes and out of principle I couldn't bring myself to pay them. The car actually works fine and I've done 32,000 miles in 5 years since Merc refused to change the sensors. This can be verified if you look through the MOT and service history you will see the garage flag it each year as an issue. In summary get a cheap car and drive it with the light on or budget for 700 at Mercedes to get new sensors and the light off. Otherwise, this car is a brilliant example with an excellent history which I have documented on spreadsheet and uploaded as a photo. On to the cars spec, an AMG line with the optional AMG Plus Package and therefore fully loaded. Standout features being the LED intelligent headlights with Adaptive High-beam Assist. The pan roof which is also a sunroof and has an electric sunblind. As well as rear camera, parking sensors front and rear the car also has active parking assist which parallel parks the car for you. The infotainment system has premium upgrade with Harmon Kardon speakers, Sat Nav, DVD player, Bluetooth and dab radio. While there's no Apple CarPlay you can still play music from phones via Bluetooth or the cable in armrest. The heated seats are electrically adjustable and finished in black leather and Alcantara like microfibre with red stitching. The car has a ton of other features and driver aids like cruise control, attention assist, voice control and more that I've probably missed. This car looks way more expensive than it is and is a dream to drive with fantastic mpg. Selling as I need a big hatch back type boot to get a few sets of golf clubs in.
