Description
This unique and rare factory manual transmission 911 Targa has undergone a substantial refurbishment programme over the previous 12 months, ensuring its top notch condition and drive ability.
The shell has been re-worked and is now presented in Porsche crayon grey with a carbon black roof. This work incorporated the third brake light delete and removal of the side skirts for a narrow body look.
The car still retains its classic 996 lines but with a modern twist. It's a fantastic looking car.
The engine has had the following comprehensive service work undertaken including: new AOS (air oil separator) new dual row IMSB (intermediate shaft bearing) new RMS (rear main seal) new clutch pack, exhaust manifold gaskets and studs replaced, new coil packs, new fuel lines, new water pump, new thermostat, new auxiliary belt pulley bearings, new exhaust flexi and spin on oil filter conversion.
The engine is a very late 2001 3.4 dual row ISMB motor, so much less prone to bore score than the 3.6 and with the best factory IMSB.
The engine which uses no coolant or oil runs with strong and immediate performance if required.
The cooling system has been upgraded with new aluminium high capacity radiators and all ducting has been replaced. This enhancement ensures the engine's optimum operating temperature and significantly improves the performance and reliability of the car.
Significant work has been undertaken on the suspension and steering systems, including replacing every suspension bush front and rear including a rebuilt steering rack. The car sits on Koni yellow adjustable dampers with H&R springs and the wheel alignment has been set at X74 spec.
The wheels are straight and the tyres have reasonable tread and are N rated. Wheels have original coloured crests fitted.
The brakes have been flushed with new fluid and EBC yellow stuff pads fitted.
The interior seats and trim are the original metropole blue and have the correct low Targa seats fitted. Centre console delete and body coloured transmission tunnel trims. Kenwood head unit with blue tooth capability., original Porsche amplifier. 3d printed mobile phone holder, air bag delete. Targa roof was fully rebuilt a few years ago and works perfectly. The HVAC works correctly with a new heater core and the air con system has been rebuilt with new condensers.
The car is not a show queen or an investors dream. It's been built to drive and with no PASM it's immense fun a true 911 experience.
