Description

This is a fantastic little car which we have owned since new. As you probably know, what's unusual about the design of the i3 is that made from carbon-fibre and is exceptionally strong. Off the lights it's almost as quick as my Telsa! My wife loves this car so much we've just purchased a newer one with a larger range....but of course this version has the advantage of the "range extender" - a small moped-sized engine that kicks in if it is needed (i.e. if the battery gets close to empty).....or you can switch it on when you want to in order to save range for the end of your journey. This is not a "hybrid" vehicle in the normal sense of the word...the range extender only kicks in if the battery is low...and then it only charges the battery (it does not drive the wheels like in a traditional hybrid). In normal everyday use the range extender is never called on and will remain off. Even when it is on it's practically silent. The theoretical battery range is over 100 miles () but reported range is dependent on driving style - we only use the car for short journey and it reports 60-70 miles (depending on temperature) ...with the range extender adding another 80 miles so the total range is about 150 miles. The mileage is low for a vehicle of this age. It's in perfect working order with no body damage except for a couple of small scrapes on the passenger-side door and the usual scuff marks on wheel rims (see last few photos)... Driving a small car 8,000miles/yr costs about 1,000 GBP in petrol... go EV now and start saving!
