Brilliant old PD bus. Stacks of receipts and service history with lots of recent work done by a trusted local garage and at Chesterfield VW Specialists. Timing belt and water pump were replaced at ~73k by JPA prior to me buying it. I've had it a little over 2 years and it's been a fantastic daily driver but I've been fancying something a bit smaller and a bit more fun so the Golf has to be moved on unfortunately.
In terms of interior specs/extras it is quite basic - manual locking, cassette deck, no cupholders (though I do have a 3D printed one). It's due a good clean inside so I'll get this done and update the pictures! For some reason the speedo reads about 10% slower than actual speed, I've learned to live with it but definitely something to be aware of!
Mechanically it's very sound and any issues that have cropped up have been dealt with immediately. It does have a couple of little flaws - passenger side door lock doesn't always lock/unlock from the driver's door, the starter makes a bit of a noise on cold starts (apparently very common for PD engines) and a couple of small windscreen chips (not mentioned on the last two MOTs). On very cold mornings the coolant level sensor sometimes trips but there is plenty of coolant in the system and expansion tank with no leaks.
Bodywork is about as you'd expect for a 20 year old estate but the sills have been professionally welded up and painted and it's had a new pair of paint matched front wings. It's had a recent service and a new pair of front tyres.
I'm happy to answer any questions if I've missed anything, I'll be sad to see it go but needs must.
