Bought in 1997 with only 3,000 miles on the clock from the first owner who had waited 10 years for delivery and "had outgrown in more ways than one" by the time it arrived. It has never been raced or rallied. It had new king pins at about 45,000, a bare metal respray around 2017 keeping its original colour of Connaught Green. At the same time the walnut dash was refinished, but sadly has gone cloudy again, and the stainless steel wire wheels were put on, one with a pleasing classic squeak. The Librands sports exhaust was put on last year, not because I wanted to be a boy racer, but because Librands had the only manifold available. The engine is sweet, but it is a Rover M Series and of course leaks a little oil round the head gasket, which is why Rover offloaded these engines onto Mr Morgan. The gearbox has never had synchromesh into third gear while I've had the car. This is a tidy car, it has given much pleasure over the 28 years I've owned it, but arthritis makes entry and exit increasingly difficult. A project never undertaken was to commission a smart stainless steel rocker-box cover, which would be a nice start for the buyer. Only 5 years to go until it's road-tax free!
