I'm selling this VW reluctantly. It has been very dependable. It's also an excellent brand, with low milage, and likely to last for some time. Due to supporting aging family members who need help with doctor visits etc, we have replaced the VW with a four door. It's great for utility purposes. The Polo is not flashy, but just what I needed for getting around town and local region. I often took it from Folkestone to Brighton, London and sometimes further afield. There was a four month period a couple of years back where I traveled from Folkestone to Hampshire once or twice a week. It goes like crazy. I think it's great. I have taken care of this vehicle, as I anticipated using it for a long time to come. I performed regular oil checks and tried to stay on top of any maintenance needed. As an example; the cam belt was changed about 18 months ago as a precaution, and battery was replaced in the last month. I have the strong impression that someone who takes care of it could put it to use for some time into the future. The car will need new rear tyres within six months or so. And, it's likely to need front shock absorbers in the next year. There are some scratches and dings to the paint. There are also some blemishes and/or faded spots. However, overall, visually, it is more than passable. The interior has some minor wear and tear, as you might expect for a car that is 19 years old. The indicator does not automatically return to a neutral position. I got used to this, and was able to handle it manually. There is a EPC and check engine light that pop up in the dash, but my garage tells me this is a fault in a sensor, not a mechanical issue. It's been like this for some time (over a year) with no detectable issues.
