Description
1970 Karmann Ghia Convertible - Drives Like a Dream, Just Needs a Little Shine
Mechanically sound and ready to go, this ex-California classic is a joy to drive and turns heads wherever it goes. Sporting its original 1600cc engine and 4-speed manual, it runs exactly as it should. Odometer reads just 51,000 miles.
Finished in Irish Green (repainted in '97 by The Karmann Ghia Centre), the paint now shows its age with some touch-ups and microblisteringstill charming from a distance, but up close it could use love. A full respray quote came in at 3k (or 7k if you're after a full colour change).
Highlights:
Smooth, tight ride - mechanically rock-solid
Rare glass rear window in off-white soft top - folds and seals like it should
Original steel wheels with good chrome hubcaps and solid tyres (Michelin/Nankang/Continental)
Clean interior with tan tonneau cover
Chrome mostly presentable - just needs a polish, though front bumper may need replacing
This is the perfect light project: tidy it up, slap on a fresh coat of paint, and you've got a stunning summer cruiser. Needs minor cosmetics, not mechanicals.
