Built in 1966 and first registered in January 1967, this stunning short wheel base (SWB) 912 was imported from Nebraska (USA) in 2021 by the previous UK owner. The former American owner restored the vehicle, replacing parts as required, including new bushes, brakes, shocks and a fuel tank. The engine also had a rebuild and the worn Solex carbs were replaced with a set of genuine Weber 40s. My understanding is that the rebuilt engine is not original, although it is correct for the car. In the UK, the car was fitted with a programmable Bluetooth 123 distributor, which works with an app to give you speed, revs, oil temperature, and set ignition timing. This modern addition makes this a very enjoyable and reliable regular driver. The previous UK owner also advised that the car has been re-jetted and set up on a rolling road. He had the car lowered slightly to European specification and then had all 4 wheels aligned. The car looks perfect on its original 4.5 x 15 steel wheels and brand new tyres, with standout Porsche emblem hub caps. All rubber seals and gaskets were replaced at the time of the near perfect respray in Signal Red. The chrome exterior trim has also been refinished. This car has zero rust, has never been driven in the wet by me and has always been garaged under an additional car cover. The interior benefits from a tasteful partial restoration, with replacement seat covers and square weave carpet, but retaining the original headlining, which is in excellent condition. Lap belts and Coco floor mats have been added and it retains it's extremely sort after wood rim steering wheel and original Blaupunkt radio. There are lots of receipts and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, which will be included in the sale. When I purchased the vehicle there was no discernible service record, although a thorough professional inspection provided reassurance that the car had been well maintained since its restoration. In my ownership I have completed 2 major services, including oil and filter changes, gearbox oil change, valve adjustments, spark plug change, fan belt replacement, brake fluid change, alongside all other checks and adjustments. I have also recently replaced the gearbox mounts and refurbished all the original dials. I have not seen a car of this age in better condition and it remains my go to drive when the weather is dry.
