We purchased this car Feb 2020 for our grandson. below is a list of works carried out over 5 years. This car runs very smoothly & quietly, no misfires, first time starting, good mpg , no exhaust smoke . Jan 2021 2 x rear coil springs. Mar 2021 new timing belt Apr 2021 new ignition coil pack + rocker cover & gasket Oct 2022 new battery Mar 2023 new rear brake shoes Jun 2023 new crank position sensor Oct 2023 Over head cam solenoid Jan 2024 New front suspesion drop links Sep 2024 New oil cooler / exhaust front pipe / thermostat /coolant tank + level sensor /oil& filter change / new oil filler cap /radiator bottom hose. The oil cooler failure had a knock on effect that required all of the additional parts in the list to be renewed Our grandson is the third owner, there are two keys, four good tyres, ( see photo for tread depth ) , the car has average scuffs/ scratches for year. This may seem like a long list, but if any of the cars you are considering hasn't had these jobs done, then they are a potential problem waiting to happen. PS. a word of advice, ( if you don't mind )which ever car you decide on , ensure proof of timing belt change, if no proof then assume it hasn't been done. Also, when we were looking for an Astra, look carefully in the boot and rear seat area for signs of water. Several we looked at had water damage, to varying degrees, and the sellers said it was water from a recent valeting . Good Luck.
