Here we have an R171 Mercedes SLK200K with the lovely 6-speed manual box. It's a nice specification from factory, finished in Amber Red Metallic over a black cloth interior. As far as optional extras go, I am led to believe that this has a harmon/kardon sound system ( i was told you can tell by the radio shape), a multifunction steering wheel and the nicer 5-spoke alloy wheels.
Driving wise, it's great fun and it's great order - as you can tell by the recent MOT. Being a manual, it pulls you along surprisingly well in every gear, with a nice gear change - making a good noise whilst doing so! I've been using the car recently, and it hasn't leaked any fluid on the drive and shows no signs of overheating. It handles really nicely, however I do think it could do with an alignment. This is likely because i have just replaced the front-right strut and spring assembly. On the previous MOT, the only advisory was for the exhaust blow, I believe I found the culprit for this which was a series of random scrap metal and exhaust putty holding the exhaust together where it splits into a Y. I have replaced this with a proper exhaust joining clamp which has made it miles better.
Cosmetically, it's held up really well over 20 years. The paint itself (bar the lacquer peel as pictured) is in really good condition and still has the factory Merc sparkle. There are no dents or scuffs around the car that I can see, which I hope transpires through the photos. There is a bit of rust bubbling on the front-right wing, these are interchangeable however and not part of the chassis, there is also a split on the underside of the front bumper, which again should be easily viewable in the photos.
Overall, this is a really nice example of an SLK, with a manual box and finished in a really nice colour also.
