This is the reluctant sale of my 2003 Mini Cooper S R53. I have recently had a baby and therefore purchased a bigger car. This little pocket rocket has a raw essence of fun that the other generations simply can't match. This car has been owned and loved by my family for the past 6 years and has undergone regular servicing including rectifying the common issues with these cars and a whole heap of upgrades. The car has a fresh mot (until March 26). Don't let the milage put you off, this car has been looked after and starts first turn of the key. If I had the space I would keep it as a weekend fun car. Maintenance works to rectify the Mini niggles include boot lid rust repaired and professionally resprayed, oil cooler and gasket, oil filter housing and gasket, sump gaskets all replaced, brake lines replaced, supercharger service etc. Other new or recently replaced items include suspension top mounts, new discs and pads all round with rear calipers rebuilt, 4x new tryes with plenty of tread, lower suspension arms and arb bushings replaced, new expansion tank and hosing etc Modifications include - 17% reduced pulley, larger aluminum intercooler, 1x stage cooler plugs, stainless steel cat back exhaust, pipercross air filter and piping, engine brace, Eibach lowering springs, larger brakes from the R56 cooper S. The car also benefits from factory fitted full leather interior, chrome pack with cruise control and the Harman Kardon stereo. The bodywork is in great condition considering it's age and in the electric blue it really stands out. Only bad bits - Drivers side speaker needs replacing (very easy job and 25 on eBay), engine damper is a bit aged (I already have the replacement) and the dual mass flywheel has started to squeak. I did intend on replacing this myself and installing the Getrag gearbox from the phase 02 R53 with the factory lsd. I therefore have the gearbox, flywheel and clutch ready to go in that I will throw in with the car. People who know will know these boxes are sort after and worth approx 300 As you can tell, this car has been well looked after throughout its ownership and is definitely a future classic that deserves to go to a home where it's used and appreciated.
