I have owned this vehicle since 1980, and between the years 1995 and 2001 rebuilt the vehicle on a new fully Waxoyled Heritage shell with many new and reconditioned parts. A reconditioned engine with uprated camshaft and unleaded head, recon gear box and differential, and new twin carbs, New wiring loom, distributer and alternator and the positive earth changed to negative earth to accommodate the alternator. Electronic ignition and electric fan. New hydraulics and new master brake and clutch cylinders. The hood was new at the time of rebuild as were the carpets, leather seat covers and moulded seat foam. Many parts in the engine bay were black powder coated where appropriate and new rear and front bumpers were provided. All five wire wheels were sent off for reconditioning and painting. There are two tonneau covers and one half tonneau for the space behind the seats. I would consider the Condition as class 3 as there are a few surface scratches and blemishes and I have tried to show these in the photographs. At the time of the first Mot in 2002 the mileage read 9,582 as of 2025 it is 16,512 therefore in the last 23yrs it has done c.7000 miles. The car does need some time or money spent on it to realise its full potential and I hope that the asking price reflects this. The engine needs retuning or adapting as whilst it is fine at motorway speeds is less smooth when driving in towns, it also runs on when the ignition is turned off. The back lash on the rear diff may need adjusting. The rev counter was not converted to negative earth. The oil pressure reading is good ie. 75 to 80 psi (see photo) but the needle can stick and you need to tap the gauge. In order to try and value the car I went through a years worth of classified ads in the MG Owners magazine and taking the price of 10 similar vintage Heritage shell MGB's the average price was c.3,500 pounds above my asking price. The vehicle has overdrive and a heater and original radio and painted wheels and a tow hitch, it would have been top of the range in its day.
