1984 classic "Whale Tail" Cabriolet in gleaming Guards Red, garaged and dry miles only in my 14yr ownership. I've had the 915 gearbox rebuilt by Porsche racing specialists BS Motorsport and the engine given a thorough checkover, new clutch, drive shaft, starter motor, tinware, oil feed pipes, sound matting, major service inc valve adjustments, sundry components and adjustments by Porsche Specialist AutoUmbau at a cost of over 6k in 2015/16 at 109k miles. Mechanically in very good condition, good cylinder leak down test results and strong oil pressure. Engine bay and underside are clean, leak free, dry and tidy. Main dealer/specialist service stamps pre my ownership up to 100k miles, AutoUmbau major service at 109k, minor services (oil, filters, brake fluid, etc.) at 104, 107, 111 and 114k. Stainless steel exhaust box with polished tailpipe. The bodywork is good, very minor bubbling around the nearside headlight, bonnet edge and a small bubble on the offside wing., the passenger door needs adjustment to correct shut lines, otherwise very clean and solid throughout. In 2012 I had the ns kidney bowl replaced and the os kidney area investigated, declared solid, cleaned and reprotected (photos available). The hood is in fair weathertight condition, two small stitch repairs, the rear screen is clear and scratch free. The Fuch alloys are in excellent condition and clad with ContiSports, good tread depth on fronts, whilst the rears are due a new set, which aren't silly money. The interior is in good original condition, the seats are unmarked, clean, super supportive and comfortable, correct original steering wheel, the door cards and pull handles are all good, the gauges are all good as are the electric windows and mirrors. Naff aftermarket radio/cassette. The under bonnet is clean and tidy with good original carpets and refurbished fuel tank. Currently MoT'd through to July 25, but as the car is now classed as a "historic vehicle" it's now both MoT and Vehicle Tax exempt, whilst classic car, 3k miles, fully comp insurance is super cheap. NIW9111 reg available only by separate agreement. The driving experience is full on "old school" Porsche - fast, direct, engaging and totally exhilarating with the awesome classic, air cooled Porsche flat six engine note urging you on. This is a lovely car that will give any new owner many years of thoroughly enjoyable, highly reliable, low running cost and very much admired classic car ownership - ideal for the coming Summer!
