Description

E39 Alpina B10V8s 65k miles 45GBP. I could leave it at that as it should say everything you would want to know about one of the best cars ever made. I'll point you to the excellent Alpina Archive page for all the info you should require about the model. I am the second owner of the Alpina and took it over with 58k miles. Every car I have gets used and driven, it's what they are for. I had a major service done at Alpina specialist Sytner Leicester last year when the service indicator still had one green light. I just asked for everything to be done at the service. Since then the car has done minimal miles and has been professionally stored at Chatham-Vault, where it can be viewed by appointment. Chatham (specialist car restoration business with worldwide clients) have also overseen the small jobs to bring the car close to showroom condition. The only thing I didn't have done was the bonnet repainted because of a few small stone chips as the car was regularly driven to and from southern France. It is ceramic coated. The interior is excellent and the wood is like new. I have installed the Grom Audio BT3 in the car for streaming music and calls. It works perfectly mainly because of the smooth, quiet ride of the Alpina. It plugs into where the 6CD changer was. It does knock out the functions of the central screen but I put my phone over this for navigation anyway. The 6 CD changer is with the car so can be reverted if required. This car is stunning. It is quicker point to point than my '19 Aston Martin Rapide AMR, AM should have bought a B10 V8s and learned handling from the Alpina guys. The Alpina will happily cruise within 10mph of it's max 170mph and do the 0-62 in 5.4 a hundred times a day. It may not be quite as fast/hard as an M5 (I would argue the Alpina is easier to drive quick as it's not so demanding), but then that's not what this car is about. Different animals, different purposes. And you won't have the Vanos, oil leak, transmission, clutch issues of the M. This car is about cruising and having fast fun without drawing attention. It's about owning the best version of one of the best cars ever made. It's about owning history. Look at Alpina values. Don't squirrel it away in a garage waiting for your investment to happen you're wasting a great opportunity to be one of the privileged people to own one of these cars. Oh, car phone obsolete. That's progress! Call from 24/4 (I'm abroad).
