Description
BMW's X5 in essence is the German Range Rover, fast, frugal, capable, luxurious and handsome.
The E70 series 2 version refined what was already a winning package, the hardy 3.0 diesel mated to the legendarily robust 4 wheel drive system is well documented to be a bombproof combination, plenty of power, smooth delivery & great economy.
It's the perfect family wagon, spacious cabin, massive boot, with extra storage space beneath the boot floor too, black leather seats all round, heated at the front for those wintry starts. On those long drives (and this car has made the trip to the French Alps and back a couple of times this season) you can flick the cruise control on and relax as the 6 cylinder double overhead camshaft powerplant pushes you effortlessly onwards. Despite perhaps not having the technology of your modern ipad on wheels, this still has what you need, Bluetooth pairing for your phone calls and an auxiliary port so you can play your tunes or audiobook through the stereo. CD player and sat nav too if that's required beyond your smartphone.
Most importantly, you want your used car to have great provenance with a full service history and a nice stack of invoices, this vehicle has that in spades, & then some.
The BMW service book is stamped with 10 Main Dealer visits (plus the pre delivery check at BMW UK), 1 Independent and with invoices present for a further 2 services at Independents too. As you can see from the pictures, this X5 has had 13 services in total, and has been utterly pampered throughout it's life by it's very low ownership (only 2 owners in Surrey for the first 17 years, 12 with the 2nd owner who cossetted the car, before it moved to the equally careful owner in Cheshire who is only selling it as he's bought another X5). Fault free MOT not due until September.
The maintenance & upkeep has been fastidious, as evidenced by the invoices present, the car has been treated to almost 8k of expenditure in the last year alone to make sure the car is in fabulous working order. The considerable outlay by those careful owners is the new owner's gain.
At just 73k miles, she's in fine fettle, (these things will comfortably do 200k + ) there are no warning lights, all controls and electrics are in full working order, it has been fabulously maintained and is ready to serve it's new owner just as well as it has it's prior custodians. It's a hell of a lot of car for not much cash. What's not to like, prestige motoring for relative pocket money.
