Description
The 599 is utterly beautiful, but also functional. Aerodynamic panels funnel air efficiently across the car, pushing it down into the tarmac at speed, whilst functional cooling ducts keep the brake temperatures under control. It is a technical masterpiece that highlights how there is beauty in functionality.
Supplied new by JCT600 Brooklands in Leeds, this 599 GTB would be collected by a Surrey-based owner. Today, the car remains in its original specification, though now wears a set of custom-made 599 GTO homage wheels.
Produced by West Forged wheels, they're made to the exact specs as a genuine set of 599 GTO wheels and are wrapped in a matching set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. Finished in gloss-black, they not only set the car off, but they highlight the gargantuan carbon ceramic brakes that sit behind them. Included with the car are its original challenge-style wheels, which wear a set of Pirelli P Zero tyres.
The interior is the perfect balance of luxury and performance. Electric memory, heated, Daytona-style bucket seats are finished in black leather with contrasting red stitching. Carbon fibre features across the dash, centre console and even the steering wheel, which features shift lights-perhaps a nod to Ferrari's F1 success of the same year.
Under the bonnet, you'll find what is effectively a detuned Enzo powerplant. It's a 5,999cc, hence the name, naturally aspirated V12 that in the 599 produces 610 bhp and 448 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an F1 flappy-paddle gearbox, which in this variation can change gear in just 100 milliseconds.
Despite covering just 14,500 miles over the last 18 years, this 599 has a service book brimmed with stamps.
The most recent service at AV Engineering included replacing the radiator, lower front ball joints, track rod ends and the auxiliary belt and tensioner to ensure the car is in tip-top order.
Whilst the Pinifarina team has had their dark moments, see the Hyundai Matrix, the 599 is truly one of their brightest; it's as if the car has barely aged in 20 years. This example's superb specification features desirable optional extras like carbon ceramic brakes, Daytona seats and those stunning custom GTO homage wheels which help it stand out from the masses.
As with all our vehicles, an entire digital folder is available upon request and contains more images, walk-around videos, and scans of the service history. The car can also be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.
