Description

Very reliable Volkswagen Eos convertible in silver, fitted with a manual gearbox and the newer 2-litre turbo petrol (210bhp) engine, which I've owned since Spring 2018 (so I've owned it for 7 years now, nearly half of its life). In 2018, shortly after getting the car, I had the engine retuned by Celtic Tuning (level 1 remap) - this has raised the power from 207bhp to 262bhp as well as increasing the torque available. Further to this, I had an advanced infotainment upgrade in the same year - the new head unit includes bluetooth, satnav, DAB radio, and a CD player - along with Android Auto (wired and wireless) and Apple Carplay (wired and, I believe, wireless - I've never had an iPhone to test this side, though). There were also rear parking sensors and a reversing camera fitted at the same time, so this may well be the Eos containing the most modern technology in the country. Starts first time, even after being left for a week or two. Roof was last serviced in December 2024 by specialists Cayman Autos in Surrey (receipts available) and the car is currently leak-free (and should remain so if you keep the roof serviced). Rest of car had a full service and MOT in March 2025 and has not been used much since then. Seats four adults comfortably, unlike many convertibles. The roof contains its own integrated sunroof, and is a wonderful mechanical ballet, or a ridiculously overengineered marvel, depending upon your perspective. Bad bits: Just shy of 100,000 miles (but that's less than 7k/year since it was new.) Few age-related dings and scratches. Small rust patch on the front right wheel arch (visible in pictures) which it got through the MOT with. Good bits: It loves to go quickly, and can be used year-round as a daily driver with the hard-top in place, which also makes it more secure than many other brands of convertibles are. Brand-new clutch in September 2024 (receipts available). Full service history from when I first got it, so seven years worth. I drove it to Scotland and back earlier this year and got nearly 500 miles out of a tank of fuel, so it can even be vaguely economical on motorway runs if driven sensibly - but where's the fun in that?
