Description
"Newage" Subaru Forester Cross Sports - JDM 2.0L Turbo
Up for sale is my beloved JDM Subaru Forester Cross Sports, featuring the iconic 2.0L turbocharged EJ flat-4 boxer engine, paired with the 4EAT "SportShift" automatic gearbox, tuned by Provide for Subaru.
This is a rare and well-preserved example about as good as you could hope to find in 2025.
Being a Japanese import, it has never faced the harsh, salt-treated roads that plague UK cars. Since owning it, I've routinely applied Lanoguard underbody protection to keep it solid and fresh underneath.
Maintenance & History:
Cambelt replaced by the importer in 2021
Gearbox & differential oils (front & rear) changed in 2022
Front brakes (discs and Brembo pads) replaced in 2023
Rear discs/pads are still boxed and ready for when they're needed
Engine oil & filter changed twice a year (spring and autumn) during tyre swaps, using genuine Subaru black filters and Millers 10w49 fully synthetic oil. Regular rust protection re-applied at the same time.
The car was originally converted to mph by the importer, with the odometer rolled back from 54,000 km to 33,000 miles. I noticed the speedo wasn't accurate, so I returned it to kph. At that point, the odometer still showed around 35k-ish miles but was now counting in kilometers. As it stands, the odometer reads 100,000 km, but the real reading is closer to 120,000 km (roughly 75,000 miles). I never corrected it, as I had every intention of keeping this car forever (don't we all?).
Originally from the sunny Oita region in southern Japan, some of the rubber trims had dried out and were replaced under my ownership (front window weather strips and gussets, plus the rear window strip).
Modifications & Extras: This Forester is almost completely stock. The only changes are:
Head unit swapped for a UK Subaru stereo (I have both single and double DIN units)
Speakers upgraded to Pioneer units - big improvement
Discreetly added USB and AUX ports in the dash cubby
It also includes:
Rubber boot mat
Hard plastic boot tray
3x genuine Subaru cargo nets (surprisingly handy)
Subaru specific Oil Funnel (makes oil changes less messy)
This car has been deeply loved and meticulously cared for, always warmed up before driving and hand-washed every weekend.
Selling only due to a recent job change that now requires more motorway miles and something a bit more comfortable with cruise control.
I'll probably tweak this ad as I remember more things worth mentioning.
Cheers Paul.
