Description

This is a very reluctant sale of my outstanding Audi A3 (8P) Sport Quattro, with the Iconic 3.2 litre VR6 R32 engine in it. I bought this car (almost 2 years ago) from a friend of mine (also a car enthusiast). As a result, I knew the car approximately 6-7 years prior to purchasing it, and knew it was in very good hands. It's a modern classic already and will only go up in value now (if looked after). It has all the right credentials for becoming a true classic vehicle from what I would call (and many would agree); 'The Golden Era' of motoring (1995-2010 - in my opinion), where big engines and pure driving pleasure were what mattered the most. A true 'purist's spec' set this vehicle aside from the rest; with a 3-door body; manual gearbox; the ultra-rare special order Misano Red Pearl paintwork; the original BBS Speedline split rims (freshly refurbished; no marks); S-Line trim; and the timeless black leather interior mean this particular example will appeal to the 'Drivers' and potentially collectors too. Low Mileage (equating to approximately only 5,000 miles per year). A comprehensive service record with invoices, all old MOT certificates, and extensive paperwork for parts & labour over the years. 2 Keys (both work perfectly). HPI Clear. Outstanding condition inside and out (especially considering that the car is essentially 20 years old). Obviously it's not absolutely perfect as it does get used (the odd stone chip), but certainly no dents, scratches, or rust detectable on the bodywork. Do note, that as a Mk5 Golf R32 owner myself too, I can confirm that despite these cars sharing the same 3.2L VR6 engine, the A3 noticeably has the edge in terms of performance. It can also be argued that it's a more subtle, gentlemanly version of the R32. It regularly turns heads and attracts compliments from intrigued passers by when they hear it purr past. In terms of mechanical up-keep, the car was serviced less than 1000 miles ago, and has had various works completed including a Haldex Control Module Refurbishment (200GBP); a new Haldex Pump + replaced oil & filter (235GBP); rear wiper motor (common fault on 8P A3s), rear washer jet & rear wiper blade (175GBP); rear coil springs (220GBP) ; D/S window regulator (90GBP); rear boot struts (50GBP); corrosion-protection treatment program to the underside of the vehicle to prolong and protect it's originality. All in all a very rare opportunity to acquire a genuine, enthusiast-owned A3 Sport. Kind Regards, Les
