Description
Hi, I have come to the end of the restoration of this lovely old car and am now ready to move on to my new project. Bought a year ago, this car comes with the original purchase invoice and masses of old invoices and all the current ones, and a fully stamped service history in the original service book and Volvo wallet with manuals etc.
I have spared no expense in this project.
In the past year, she has had (full garage receipts in history file):-
Full service
Replacement cambelt and water pump
Brake calipers and pads
4 new tyres (less than 200 miles ago)
Both front indicator and day running light lenses replaced
Bodywork buffed and ceramic coated
Boot struts replaced
All welding completed to high standard
Two full coats of Lanogard to chassis and complete underside
New battery (warranted)
New registration plates
Replacement hoses
MOT issues addressed and full 12 months MOT , expires 05.04.2026
Full professional valet and ceramic coating to bodywork last month
Set of original Volvo 740 tray mats
First registered on 14.03.1988 to a Mr Davidson and supplied by Wycombe Marsh Garage Ltd., the purchase invoice is present together with original Volvo brochures and the service book shows records of no fewer than 37 services. Mr Davidson kept the car for many years and used it sparingly, clearly having garaged it throughout his ownership.
The ownership history, available to see online, appears to show two owners having registered the car for only a week or so, indicating that a trader has made a mistake - I believe I am the third actual owner.
E139 JLE is totally original in every respect and has not been modified in any way, even down to the original working stereo, chrome hubcaps and three keys.
No silly offers will be considered, I don't think you will find a better first generation 740 saloon out there. The pictures will speak for themselves but I am happy to do a video walk round with you, if that would be of help prior to making the journey to view her.
