Description
Selling my lovely Beetle, 'Laydee'. Reluctant sale, but needed something bigger.
Bought 2 years ago, with the plan of running her for a year but fell in love with her and couldn't part ways.
Being a 22 year old car, she has her quirks (plus a few bumps and scratches) but she's a VW with 108k on the clock. If someone has the time to restore her, she would make a fine car. Contemplated keeping her but as SORN to restore myself but I just haven't got the time.
The nitty gritty:
Her EPC light is on - we think it is oil level thermal sensor.
She had some welding done prior to me purchasing, this can be seen under driver side door. It has just started to rust on the surface - a common fault with Beetles.
She has a wheel trim missing, and the remaining ones have the VW missing out of the middle (disappeared after taking it to be cleaned!)
She has a slight rattle, not sure what it is but garage haven't been too worried about it.
A few things that I call her quirks which she came with that never bothered me:
Rear ashtray doesn't shut.
Missing handle on glove box.
Missing lid on change tub in drinks holder.
The front & rear VW badges have lost some of their coating and faded.
Drivers side rear light has a crack but doesn't affect use.
Headliner has come away on the majority of the roof.
She doesn't have the standard radio (cassette) fitted at the moment, but it will be included with the car.
MOT until July. Offside front coil replaced.
Serviced in August 2024. New spark plugs and leads, along with timing belt in Sept 2024.
New steering wheel cover & gear gator in 2023. Replaced 3rd brake light (Mot advisory from previous years) Replaced gas struts for boot.
Genuinely, I am gutted to be selling her, and if it wasn't for needing a bigger car I would be keeping her for several more years.
