Mel was meticulous about every aspect and detail of the car and his efforts are clear when you look inside or outside. The car was a multiple winner of awards at AOC (Allard Owners Club - allardownersclub.org) gatherings and other events Mel attended. He completely rebuilt the 4.5 litre flathead at the time of restoration. It has a Volvo 4 speed all synchro gearbox, with great ratios allowing cruising at legal limits. It retains the torque tube with a 3.27 crown wheel and pinion. It starts easily, drives beautifully, has a heater, radio and seat belts to make life more pleasant and safer. It has a custom made Autosparks loom, providing switching and power for the additions Mel specified. Carpet throughout is high quality. Seats are renovated and beautifully upholstered in red leather. All interior panels have been remade and recovered perfectly. All dials work as they should and the steering wheel is refinished to a high standard. The folding hood was remade and works perfectly. The car has been awaiting a new owner and you should expect some light recommissioning as it comes back into use, but there are no known faults with the car and the brakes work well.
