Description
Beautiful car. MGB with overdrive. Bought from the back of a dry garage where it had sat for three years and recommissioned and checked through. What we found;
The car is rust free, no welding needed which was a surprise
The paint is very good, there are a couple of chips which have been filled in and a very small crease in the top of the drivers side front wing
The hood was fitted and never put up, needed to be stretched to fit is was so new!
The car has had a new steering column and rack, but the steering wheel wasn't centred, so was removed and set straight.
There was a perished brake hose so we replaced it and replaced the brake fluid
The clutch slave cylinder was leaking so we fitted a new one, new piping and new fluid.
The heater fan motor bearings were rattling, so was repacked with grease.
The car has had an oil change with the correct oil filter and oil.
The boot lock was difficult to lock, so was replaced with a new one.
Other areas we wanted to address;
This car started life as a rubber bumper, so we fitted the correct chrome bumper springs and the correct shorter bump stops to go with them
There was some pitting to the front bumper so we replaced it with a brand new one.
Why buy this MG?
This is a car that is properly drivable every day, a car that looks beautiful, and drives as well as it looks. I have taken it to a few shows and even parked next to much more expensive cars it gets plenty of attention. If you have always desired one, or if you are looking for a first classic, this is hard to beat.
One last thing, virtually every nut and bolt for an MGB is available, and all at really good prices, so the car is a great thing to own and run.
