Description
A new addition to the family means four seats no longer cuts it, so very reluctantly putting this up for sale. 2017, Vesuvio Grey, 54K Miles (will increase as still in use), 3 Owners (including me), Full Specialist Service History, Comfort Pack (Heated front seats and steering wheel), Half Leather, Apple Car Play, Ghost II Immobiliser.
I'm the car's third owner from new and purchased it in Feb 2023. The car had a couple of the usual Giulia Quad issues when I first had it (failing battery due to dodgy voltage sensor and leaking headlight washers) which were sorted with genuine Alfa parts. If you're looking at one of these, it's worth checking that the auto start/stop and heated rear screen are working as these tend to be the first symptoms of impending battery drama. Similarly, make sure the screen wash bottle is topped up and doesn't need filling daily as it's not a cheap fix.
The car had a full Alfa main dealer service history from new, with the major service being completed at 33K miles. In my ownership I've had the car looked after by AHM in Hampshire. A bit of a trek from Bristol and certainly not cheap, but I planned to keep the car for a very long time and so wanted to keep it mechanically perfect and trouble free.
The first service at AHM in Dec 2023 included their usual recommendations of stainless steel bleed nipples on all brake calipers (standard ones seize and need drilling out - worth asking if (how?) the brake fluid has been changed if you're looking at an early car that hasn't had this done by now), new scuttle panel (early cars allowed rain water to get to the R/H ECU which is quite a few quid to replace), and removal and replacement of all the undertray bolts along with software updates.
Inspection during the service also identified that the rear shocks and centre radiator were leaking. These items were replaced in May last year. Quite a big job and quite a few quid. If you're looking at an early car, check that these items have been done. They will almost certainly be required if not.
The car was most recently back to AHM in December for an annual service and check over. As well as the usual service items, it also had new front discs and bolts (genuine Alfa) and AHM fast road pads. Also done on AHM's recommendation was a diff oil change.
The car was last MOT'd end of September with only a minor advisory about pad wear indicator wires - sorted at last service.
Amazing car, will be sad to see it go.
