MGB Roadster in green, 1977, 1.8 manual with overdrive. MOT & VEL exempt due to age. Odometer currently shows 38k miles, but reading it's history, I think it has had a speedo change in the past. Total mileage should be around 120k, I believe. Starts on the button, new battery last year. Brakes would benefit from an overhaul, they have suffered from the car not getting used. Master cylinder, servo, flexible hoses and fluid all changed about 2 years ago (?), but it's only covered a couple of hundred miles in my 8 years of ownership. Oil and filter change late last year. Probably 20 miles done since then. Coolant change at same time. Excellent oil pressure, no rattles on start up. Cylinder head has been adapted for unleaded fuel. Engine could use a tune up, but runs quite nicely when warmed up. 4 tyres all have plenty of tread, with no obvious cracking, but are old..... Bodywork is fair, with no rust holes, but it has several dents, signs of repair, and marks consistent with it's 49 years. Chassis is solid as far as I am aware. The rear spring hangers and boot floor sections were replaced some 3 years ago, the rear springs were also replaced at that time. It has had a poor sill repair on the N/S, finished in underseal, prior to my ownership, please see photos. The front seats are black leather with red piping, and trim in good condition, (save for a cigarette burn on the plastic rear seat) with new MG floor mats in the front. Bad Bits: The exhaust is noisy. It's not blown, it's a standard system, which gave the 1.8l MGB's their horrible exhaust note. If I were keeping the car, I would change it ..... The quarterlight frames are both cracked at the top. The hood is way past it's best, but the car has not sat outside, so it has not concerned me, it only goes out when it's sunny! Please note, this car is 49 years old, and has been used. There are faults with it, do not expect a new car - and expect to have to maintain the car during ownership. It has been in the extended family for some 25+ years, but has had minimal use in the past 10 years.
