Description
Those of you who know Volvos will know how rare this car is. Those who don't; have a look on . Truthfully I never worked out exactly which model listed on that site matches this one, but whichever option you select shows it to be extremely rare. This model is the one directly below the R in the line up of its year. She starts every time, pulls smooth and strong and sounds absolutely gorgeous.
This car has served us in various guises, I commuted in it for a couple of years, it makes an impressive load carrier and more recently it's been the family holiday car since she can carry everything except the kitchen sink and still close the load cover! Super relaxing to drive (unless you spend too long thinking about the fuel bill), she eats up the miles effortlessly no matter where I take her. Almost every time we take her out we get somebody stop to chat about the car, it really has been the most rewarding thing to own and drive.
This car will always hold a special place in my heart, but it's doing less than 1000 miles a year now and I can't justify keeping it any longer. I have had it for 5 years and and 20,000 miles, in that time I've done a lot of work to make her mechanically sound. I have a huge amount of paperwork from the period I've owned her and not much from before that, although there is some.
The basics:
1997 Volvo V70 2.5T AWD Manual on a little over 125,000 miles.
Comes with heated seats and mirrors, electric windows all round, spare wheel with jack and toolkit, boot load protector, retractable parcel shelf, retractable load/dog guard, built-in centre-rear booster seat and various other Volvo goodies.
Good bits:
The interior is in great condition, I have cleaned it fairly regularly and treated the leather every couple of years. I will include my Pure DAB radio/bluetooth adaptor since it makes the '90s radio so much more useable.
Work done in my ownership includes enough that Autotrader doesn't allow me the space to write about it fully, let alone anything else. I'm very happy to email interested parties with a full break down, I have a huge amount of paperwork from my ownership and a small amount from before that. Suffice to say mechanically speaking she is nearly perfect.
Bad bits:
Lots of bumps and scrapes to the exterior courtesy of the older gentleman who owned the car previously.
