Description
18+ years of happy, comfortable, economical (LPG conversion, so ULEZ exempt) and mostly carefree motoring. The car has been well maintained (I have a stack of service / repair invoices over an inch thick!) and is in good working order, with MOT until February 12th 2026.
The engine is still strong and the ride still smooth, the multi-tronic (CVT) automatic gearbox was rebuilt about 30k miles ago. The leather interior is still clean, tidy and most things still work, including the climate control. The touchscreen CarPlay system makes long journeys fly by, especially if, like me, you have calls to make hands-free etc.
The LPG conversion uses a 90 litre tank in the boot. You'll get about 400 miles from a full tank (about 76 ltrs from empty) and you can still buy LPG in many places for as little at 90 ppl. You still have petrol too, it switches over to LPG automatically when the engine is warm enough, so I've never run out of fuel!
Inevitably the car is now showing some signs of age, with some surface rust bubbling up in a few places, so it would suit someone who isn't afraid of doing their own work.
All I'm asking for in the price is what I've spent on it this year to get it through the MOT and service, which included 2 new tyres on the front (the rears are only about a year old), some new track rod ends and rust repair on the NS front wing. I had planned to have the latter replaced, and have the part, but had already purchased a new car, so a filler job (no paint colour matching) was done. I have a number of other parts that I can also include as part of the sale, like the original 6 CD double DIN radio system, both original headlights and the original fuel rail with injectors - I had them replaced as part of a misfire diagnosis, which turned out to be a failed suspension bush confusing the gearbox. Most of those have been replaced over the last 10 years or so, as have many other expensive parts.
At the time of writing there are two small jobs that need to be done, both of which I have the parts for - repairing the NS front electric window and the driver's side door handle. Occasionally the brake wear orange warning light will appear on the DIS. The wire that connects the sensor is broken, but there is plenty of life in the pads. Another oddity is the fuel gauge will occasionally bounce around. The level sensor on the fuel pump is integrated, so is only worth replacing when the pump stops working.
