Description

Series One 88 inch Registration Number ASL 812 Manufactured--February 4th 1957 (Land Rover certificate) Chassis Number 111-7-02751 Road tax and MOT exempt Classic insurance Road tax and MOT exempt Owned for the past 37 years. We've had a lot of fun in it over the years but I'm now 82 years old and it is time to pass it on to someone else to get many more years of enjoyment from this lovely old vehicle. Steve Parker Land Rover conversion to 3 litre Ford Essex engine in 1987. I bought it direct from Steve Parker and it was serviced by him for many years until he moved on to more modern Land Rovers. Original purchase receipt present. I have all the paperwork showing in great detail all the work undertaken during the conversion, the parts used and an engineers report. Original Series One gearbox, fully rebuilt ( at great expense) a few thousand miles ago at specialists Beaumont Land Rover in Halifax Mechanically it has wanted for nothing. I daren't begin to add up the money spent over the years. Recent examples of work done include a custom fabricated fuel tank 500 and the carb has just been converted from automatic to manual choke. See photos for huge stack of recipes. Cosmetically it has gathered patina over the years which I find suits its age and character but would be easy to pretty it up if that is what you prefer. The chassis and rest of the underneath has been wax-oiled every year. Service history from local garage which has cared for it over the last 20 years. Servo Assisted brakes and clutch makes driving much easier. Front seats are Series 3 Rear side bench seats Seat belts Free wheel front hubs When the kids were little we used to spend the summers in North Wales and always took the landie . There were quite a lot of motorway miles so I had a Fairey(?) Overdrive fitted to lessen the stress and improve the fuel economy. Heater Tow bar LED Reversing lights Roof rack with ladder Run regularly As with any vehicle of this vintage it is a permanent rolling restoration and should be purchased with that in mind. The hope is to find someone who will love it as much as we have and so priced
