Description
This is the one MX-5 enthusiasts look for, the rare 6-speed 2.0L Sport model, finished in Sunlight Silver and fitted from factory with the all-important Limited Slip Differential (LSD), Bilstein shocks, and sports-tuned suspension. It delivers exactly what the MX-5 is known for: fun, lightweight, reliable driving with that perfect 50/50 weight balance.
Mechanically, the car is spot on. It benefits from brand new rear springs and a full service carried out in September 2024. A fresh MOT was passed in April 2025 with no advisories, and it starts first time every time with no knocks, bangs, squeaks, or creaks. The downstream O2 sensor has been replaced, the front wiper grommets have been sorted (a common issue on these), and the car is totally dry with no leaks in the footwells or boot. It comes with two keys, a shorter stubby aerial, and upgraded Osram Cool Blue front bulbs. The rear sills have also been professionally welded, tackling one of the most common MX-5 corrosion points.
Inside, the car features heated leather seats, electric windows and mirrors, and a tidy cabin overall, although the driver's seat has worn leather and the footrest carpet is worn which is neatly covered with an MX-5 rug. The shine has also gone from the sports-style fuel filler cap. Cosmetically, the bodywork lets the car down slightly, the rear arches show typical rust for a 19-year-old car, the drivers door needs sanded and resprayed and while the paint still looks good from a few steps back, this isn't a show car. That said, the fundamentals are solid, and the car drives exactly as an MX-5 should tight, nimble, and reliable.
It has part service history with Mazda main dealer stamps up to 2012. This is an ideal summer car or an excellent entry into MX-5 ownership, with all the important mechanicals sorted and ready to enjoy. Road tax is 265 a year and very cheap insurance. A reluctant sale due to lack of use it deserves someone who will take it out and appreciate what a proper little driver's car it is. Genuine enquiries only, please.
