Description

For sale, Mazda RX8 Kuro 481/500. 6 speed manual. 231ps model. Stock, bar stainless catback! Very well cared for example, requiring no mechanical work. The car has been serviced extensively, being cared for by Mazda at: 9,618, 16,305, 22,694, 27,556, 35,747, 36,814, and 40,454 miles. The car was then serviced by independents and myself at the following miles: 46,938, 50,789, 51,946, 58,718, and 66,240. Consequently, the car is showing great compression results of: Rotor 1: 6.7 6.5 6.6 Rotor 2: 6.3 6.1 6.5 These results were achieved on a RotaryTronics compression tester which normalises the results for 250rpm and sea-level, as per Mazda specification. The test was performed whilst the engine was hot (as shown in the photos) and therefore, the results are accurate. The engine is very strong, pulling well all the way until 9,000rpm. It never struggles to start hot or cold. I have always premixed the car during my ownership, as did the previous owner. The engine will last a very long time if you continue to do this. Due to premixing, the catalytic convertor has been removed to ensure it does not become blocked. An original is included for passing an MOT. I have just extensively serviced the car, which included: replacement oil and filter (10w40 semi-synth), gearbox oil change, brake flush and bleed, replacement spark plugs, and full mechanical check. Both rear shocks and springs were replaced with good quality KYB units. The secondary air pump was also taken apart and repaired. Consequently, the car passed its MOT with no advisories and now has a 12 month ticket. I have now owned this car twice. When I previously owned it I stripped down the intake manifold and serviced the SSV. I replaced all coil packs/leads with NGK variants. The brake discs/pads were upgraded to mTEC drilled/grooved rotors, and Mintex pads. These have plenty of life left in them. Cosmetically the car is in good condition, there are a few small scrapes and dings, but overall it presents well for an 18 year old car. Sills and arches rust free, underside all solid. The wheels have a few marks on them, but are very presentable. See video for a full walk around of the car! The interior looks great, with a small amount of wear to the driver's seat, but otherwise in good condition. The car is wearing a matching set of Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, all of which have 6mm+ of tread. Logbook and book packs present. 2 keys. Car is located near Manningtree, Essex.
