Description
You are bidding on an excellent 1971 MG. I have owned the car for about three years and am only selling to make space for a TVR that I have just purchased.
This year, the car has had:
Full service
New plugs, points, condenser, and distributor cap
New battery
New fuel Pump
Uprated adjustable shocks
This work was carried out by a local competition engine builder and was done to a very high standard. Overall, the car presents very well. But some areas could be improved. Please look at the pictures carefully. At the rear, there is evidence of mismatched paint and some small scabs around the body, consistent with a vehicle that is 50+ years old. The driver's seat is sagging; it appears to be in perfect condition, but it becomes noticeable when you sit down. The driver's door and bonnet could do with some realignment.
The car is tax and MOT exempt, but for peace of mind, I had the MOT done last week, and there are no advisories.
For me, the insurance is 75 a year. This is a cheap car to run!
The only other notable aspect is that, although switches for the overdrive are present, it appears that the gearbox was modified to a non-overdrive configuration at some point in its history. Also, the sills were replaced by a previous owner and are completely solid.
Please feel free to ask any questions.
