Description
I'm the 2nd owner from 12/11/2006 and approx 100k miles. I was the main driver, then my wife and now my son. V5 shows one previous owner.
It's been a fantastic family car and has been serviced every year.
I've probably spent far too much keeping it on the road in recent years but it now needs to go due to the cost of insuring it with my son as the main driver.
FSH. Skoda dealers until about 170k in 2020. Reputable independent local garage since. I have all the old invoices for work.
See the government check-mot-history website for details of MOT failures that have been fixed.
This year the ignition barrel seized completely. I had the barrel replaced and two new keys cut but retained the original transponders in new shells. So they both operate the central locking. To save the expense of replacing the door and boot locks I have kept the original, now naked, key blades which can be used in the locks manually if necessary.
In the last few weeks the heater blower packed up so has been replaced. I could have lived without the expense but at that point wasn't sure about whether to keep the car another year.
Front 12V socket has never worked so I run a long extension lead from the one in the boot.
The central locking on the offside rear door does not work. Either permanently locked or unlocked. It does open from the inside so passengers can get out.
Both front seats starting to show their age. The drivers seat has a split and there are a couple of cracks on the passenger side.
Both the headlight washer housings have gone in the last two years. The casualties of divs that can't park without backing into the car behind them.
Cosmetically its not brilliant and would benefit from a wash and vac but given its value I can't see me bothering.
I can't keep it too much longer as I want to cancel the insurance. Also advertised on other platforms. The engine is great and it would make a great workhorse.
Never been smoked in.
Aircon is working. It was last regassed just under two years ago.
Rear parking sensors are working.
Short MOT. I'm not expecting it to fail on anything but it is a 21 year old car.
I'm open to offers. WeBuyAnyCar have offered 290 but I don't expect them to honour that if I turn up.
Car in daily use so the mileage will be increasing but not at a very high rate.
No swaps. No delivery. I'm about a 20 min walk from Leicester train station.
