This is essentially a brand-new Mini Mayfair. We acquired the car as a rolling shell that had previously been stripped and all bodywork replaced where necessary. This is a rust-free Mini! It was then sprayed in Pageant Blue, an original Mini colour used only on the pickup. My son and I spent over three years restoring Blue Monday, as we call our Mini. Selling because my son is now at University. Almost all the mechanicals and electrics are new: - Reconditioned engine. Although the odometer says 42,000, the engine has done less than 1,200 miles. The carburettor has been stripped and rebuilt by a classic car specialist (receipt available). They have also tuned the engine to ensure correct timing, tappet clearances, etc. There is a new alternator, radiator and electronic distributor. - All new clutch hydraulics - New single-box centre exhaust for a lovely sound - Braking system. Except for the handbrake cable, all of the braking system components (hydraulics, discs, callipers, drums, pads, etc) are new. - New steering rack and track rod ends. The steering column has been stripped and rebuilt with new bushes. - New wheel bearings all round. The driveshafts have been stripped and rebuilt with new components where required. - New shock absorbers all round. - The wheels have all been stripped and refurbished. New tyres all round as well as spare. - Full new wiring harness, front and back. New headlights and rear light clusters. New wiper motor, wiper boxes and wiper motor rack. New switches and indicator stalk. New battery and wiring. - The interior has been fully refurbished. New head lining, refurbished dash pads and original wood dashboard. The original seats have been re-upholstered. Carbon fibre parcel shelf. There is an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Google Car and a reversing camera. In total, we've spent nearly 6,000 pounds on new parts. MOT is valid until November 2025. It has passed both its MOTs since we finished the project with no advisories.
