Description
2002 911 Carrera S 2 (3.6L) Tiptronic (996) 2
I have thoroughly enjoyed this car for around 12 years
It was my daily driver, but for the last 8 years or so, it has been my summer car, doing around no more than 1500 miles a year. It has spent most of its life garaged.
It had a small service last week, oil, filter - brake pads all round. It's good to go!
It has been serviced fairly regularly, but due to very little use over the last few years, these have been sporadic. It has had annual oil and filter changes and inspections, the latest being last week.
It has always been super reliable. Over the last few weeks, due to selling my other car, it has become my daily driver, covering around 1,000 miles or so in the previous few days, a total pleasure to drive, bringing a smile to your face.
The Good - It's a stunning-looking car! It has an electric soft top that is leak-free. I also have a Porsche hard top for it that was resprayed when I got the car. It's in excellent condition; it has never been on the car. I don't have the fixings, but they are readily available. The car has been totally reliable and such great fun. It has the original Bose sound system, leather seats, etc.
The noise - this must be one of the best-sounding Porsches on the road.
Bits I would do if I were keeping - none essential
-The paint on the front bumper is damaged a little, as can be seen in the photos.
-The gas struts that hold the bonnet up (front) are weak; the bonnet will slip down.
The AC needs looking at, maybe a re-gas (I never use it, I drop the roof!)
My reason for selling is that I have bought a new 911.
I am trying to be as honest as I can with the description, having been looking for a later 911 over the past months, I know how frustrating it is to drive 150 miles to view a car that is described as immaculate, only to find it's far from immaculate!
Please be aware that it is a 2002 car that has never been restored, so it's not flawless. However, it would make a very respectable daily driver, or a great project for someone with the know-how to make it into something very special. It is a beautiful drive, I would not hesitate to jump in it now and drive across the country
The dealer I purchased my new 911 from recommended I advertise it for around 15k.
I am keen to sell ASAP as I don't really have space to keep 2 cars, for that reason I am asking 13.5k but will not consider any offers below this.
