I've owned this R8 since October 2021, buying it at 82,000 miles for 32,900. Since then, it's been driven regularly, enjoyed properly, and maintained to a very high standard.
I was keeping, possibly for ever, hence the 4k spent on it last month, until last week.
Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way: yes, it has more miles than one or two others you might be looking at. And that's fine if you're shopping on mileage alone, feel free to carry on and best of luck.
When it comes to sports cars in general, one can largely forget conventional wisdom. Once of a certain "vintage" and milage, it really is down to condition and service history. Car that's are well loved, used and serviced are more often than not a better car than a garage queen or car with questionable service history.
I've seen cars listed for 28-29k with questionable mods , sketchy service history, along with wings and fins , probably from AliExpress . This isn't that. This is a proper R8, with proper history, looked after by REP and a trusted VAG specialist.
Maintenance & Spend:
I've invested nearly 20,000 during my ownership on all the big-ticket items with invoices to prove it.
In total, there's over 27,000 in receipts since 2021. That includes:
Major servicing
All oil, air con pipes
Engine oil and Gear Box oil coolers replaced
Suspension and drivetrain work
Brakes, tyres, fluids all the right stuff
And plenty of preventative maintenance
This is not a car that's been neglected or tarted up to sell it's been cherished, driven, and cared for properly.
If you're in the market for a well-loved, mechanically sorted and genuinely iconic V8 R8 with that all-important gated manual, this one deserves a look.
If you're feeling chatty, a bit lonely with no intention of buying - please call the Samaritans. They're trained professionals. I'm not & might tell you to jump off ledge :)
Also, if you're one of those "10k cash today, mate" types please, save us both the time. This car isn't for you.
Happy to talk through the history, the work done, and arrange a viewing
