First registered in Japan 21 Sep 1989 and imported 27 April 1999 with about 40k km. Huge history file, including original Japanese registration and import documents. The car has had so many upgrades over the years, including a rebuilt engine and a full respray from the MX5 Restorers. The speedo shows 182,876 km (about 114k miles) but I suspect it has been swapped at some point. The engine is a glorious free revving Japanese 1.6, producing around 115 BHP from the factory. It has a K&N filter but otherwise I believe it is pretty much stock. I've owned it about ten years, during which time it has been garaged and has done about 1000 km a year. In 2014 it was featured on the cover of 'Classic Car Buyer', with a four page article, and I will include the copy. More recently, the history is as follows. Engine purchased and rebuilt in 2011/2012 by Ashlee, one of the mechanics at the MX5 Restorers. He purchased the car, as rot free and installed the engine, in March 2012, planning to respray the then fading red paint, but his plans changed and I bought the car from him in 2015, handing it back to the MX5 Restorers, for a full respray (in Velocity Red) and to get the car fully ready.
