Description

For sale is a stunning Porsche Cayman R, finished in metallic black, equipped with the highly desirable manual gearbox and factory carbon bucket seats. Only around 220 Cayman R models were registered in the UK. Of these, approximately 105 featured the manual transmission - and it's estimated that only 55 cars combined the manual box with the optional bucket seats , making this a truly rare and sought-after specification. This car is one of the last UK-registered Cayman R in 2012. Although technically listed with 3 owners, the car was pre-registered by Porsche Centre Tonbridge and sold to its first private owner with delivery mileage. I purchased it in December 2013 from Porsche Centre Bournemouth with just 2,500 miles on the clock. It has been meticulously maintained, with a full Porsche main dealer service history (Porsche Solihull), aside from the most recent service carried out in December 2024 by a reputable Porsche specialist in Oxfordshire. It has passed every MOT without a single advisory. The car is in excellent overall condition, further benefitting from only slightly worn discs, pads and tyres and recent battery replacement. The car remains entirely original, aside from the tyres which were upgraded to the significantly improved Michelin Pilot Sport 4S with enhanced grip and response and a Bosch battery. Factory Options: Sports Chrono Package Plus Bi-Xenon Lighting System with Dynamic Cornering Lights Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with Navigation Module Fully Automatic Climate Control Sound Package Plus incl. CD Storage Box Auto-dimming Interior & Exterior Mirrors Rain Sensor Park Assist (Rear) 64-litre Fuel Tank The Cayman R is one of only two modern Porsche models to carry the 'R' badge, representing a purist-focused approach to lightweight performance. To reduce weight to under 1300 kg, it incorporates: Aluminium doors and bonnet sourced from the 997 GT3/GT3 RS 997 GT2RS carbon fibre bucket seats (optional spec) Forged 19-inch "Boxster Spyder" wheels - the lightest 19" wheels Porsche had ever offered It also features: Increased power output Shorter manual gear ratios Mechanical Limited-Slip Differential 20mm-lowered sport suspension, stiffer springs & dampers Fixed rear spoiler and revised aero for improved high-speed stability This is a focused, lightweight, and exceptionally rewarding mid-engine sports car, regarded still as one of the finest handling cars Porsche ever produced.
