Description
Regrettably selling this lovely Series 2
This car has been owned by the last owner for almost 20 years and was subject to a loving and extensive restoration to bring her back to life, including but not limited to the following:
-Fully galvanised chassis fitted and went for a general recommission at a cost of over 13k
-Replacement canvas fitted 6 months ago
-Brand new Weber carb fitted.
-Brand new distributor fitted.
-New service including genuine spark plugs
-Front seats re-trimmed and brand new rear bench seats fitted.
-Repainted a good few years ago however the paint has weathered and it has unfortunately lifted on the NS wing so it would benefit from a refresh, however the patina is very fitting for its age.
-Brand new Lucas battery
-New seals all around
All of this work has been carried out and she has done barely any mileage since, has been out and about lately though and it drives lovely. Starts on the button and is genuinely great fun to drive.
Bulkhead is A1 with no scabs or holes.
As you can see it's not a nut and bolt restoration and not perfectly presented but she has plenty of character and wears the patina of a car that recently turned 60 years old very well, it wouldn't take much to make it a minter if you wanted to go down that route and it would be the perfect candidate given the galvanised chassis which will last for many years to come.
Fuel gauge is temperamental and needs looking at and it is a quirky 60 year old car but overall it is a very good and honest example that you could happily jump in and drive away. Will be very sad to see it go but change in finances forces sale.
