Description

Bought on 15/12/2005 from BMW Preston, and it's been serviced ever since at BMW Southport. The only works undertaken outside the dealer network (at Mr Vanos, Darlington) are; Full engine rebuild at 107,000 (Sept 2012); stripped and cleaned, full Vanos rebuild, all new seals and gaskets, new timing chain and tensioner, 2 intake cam sensors, big end bearings and shells, oil pump rebuild, crank bearing shells and bolts. Full suspension rebuild at 120,000 (April 2014); New Bilstein B6 front and rear shocks, mounts and bearing plates, front and rear anti-roll bar link, front wishbone Powerflex bushes, differential input and output seals, half-shaft seals, front and rear wheel bearings. House move in 2016 meant the car stayed at a friends garage on SORN on C-tek trickle charger, and turned over every 2 weeks. No accident damage. As the car aged bodywork issues addressed by specialists in Southport and Liverpool. Rust and paint bubbling sorted at all the common points; wheel arches, B-pillars, front wings, and bonnet. I wasn't happy with the bonnet and front wings in the end so replaced them. Wheels resprayed the correct shadow chrome finish with new Michelin SP4's.When I finally got the car back last year I had BMW go over it and replace anything needed, including the rear brake reaction bars as the old ones had pitted, and I had various paint chips addressed at Autotec Liverpool, who replaced the windscreen, rear window, and sunroof rubbers as the old ones were cracking. While the rear screen was out I took the opportunity to replace the rear parcel shelf which was delaminating (original BMW parts). The self-dimming rear view mirror and the info screen have been refurbished as they had started to 'bleed'. I have every document and invoice from the day I purchased the car; all owners/dealer handbooks in their original folders, both original sets of keys and fobs (including the plastic 'glovebox' key), and the torch. A Tracker is fitted and I also have the Motorola phone (plus spare) and accessories, and the correct BMW roof bars, both in their original boxes. New MOT with no advisories. The car drives beautifully and I'll be sorry to see it go, but it simply doesn't get the use it deserves. Please see as many other M5's before viewing mine; I doubt there's a more honest M5 out there. Maintained regardless of cost, and priced fairly, the price is non-negotiable. No dreamers please and no test drive without me seeing your full licence and insurance docs.
