First to drive will buy. Owned this car for 3 years as a brilliant dad car, can't buy a new car like this. 6 cylinder engine with the 6 speed manual gearbox, rear wheel drive, m3 'purple tag' steering rack, android head unit, e46 chassis, hatchback boot and isofix rear seats! Wedding funds force a sale. I've done around 20000 miles in it over the three years, I've had it serviced and maintained by a local BMW specialist. There is partial service history from previous owners. In my ownership the following parts have been replaced: - radiator - oem fuel pump - handbrake shoes - spark plugs - filters - disa valve - rear wheel bearing - steering track rod ends - brake discs - rear brake calipers - brake pads - good year eagle f1 tyres The mechanical condition of the car is good. 4 new tyres in December last year, brakes overhauled last summer, major service including spark plugs last summer. The engine is relatively high mileage - however the m54 is designed for high mileage and my mechanic has assured me there are many 300,000+ mile examples. I had a mechanical survey on the car which identified only a small leak on the rocker cover gasket. The engine is brilliant, with the special intake noise, all the power in the high revs and the 6 speed manual engages you with the drive. The 6th gear also makes an excellent cruiser for motorways. The MOT passed first time in February with the track rod advisory which has since been resolved. So in theory there are no advisories. The cosmetic condition is ok, but not great. From a distance it looks good, but close up there are paint scratches/scuffs, swirl marks, stone chips, slight corrosion on the alloys. The plastics are aged. Cosmetically I think this is the best spec compact you can buy, sapphire black, sport spec including the bumpers, m badge details, alcantara, black roof lining inside. Interior is ok, the seat bolster is wearing thin but not as bad as most e46. The car is standard other than the black kidneys (I have the chrome ones) and entertainment unit which actually improves the cars function as a daily driver. Its ULEZ exempt.
