If you're looking for a GP1 that's been properly looked after, and presents beautifully inside and out, this is the car for you. These are increasingly hard to find in such excellent, low-mileage condition. As a final edition of the R53 Cooper S, the GP1 delivers a truly raw and engaging driving experience, made even more special by the unmistakable supercharger whine that enthusiasts know and love a sound that defines this analogue, driver-focused hot hatch. It uses the Eaton M45 Supercharger The GP1 is based on the R53 Cooper S platform, which is powered by a 1.6-litre supercharged engine, fitted with an Eaton M45 roots-type supercharger. This type of supercharger is mechanically driven by a belt, which causes it to spin at high RPM. As the rotors inside the supercharger compress air, they create a distinctive whining or chirping sound especially when accelerating under load. Minimal Sound Insulation The GP1 was built for performance and weight reduction, so sound insulation was reduced or removed compared to standard Minis. This means more mechanical noise including induction, exhaust, and supercharger sounds reaches the cabin. Enhanced Induction & Cooling The JCW tuning on the GP1 includes upgraded intake, revised ECU, and bigger intercooler, all of which help increase boost and airflow. Higher boost = more supercharger load = Louder whine. Don't miss this GP1
