For very reluctant sale is my immaculate Evo 8 RS with the reliable 5 speed short ratio gearbox. The car was imported in 2017 with a grade 4B auction certificate. It has been in my ownership since 2020 and in that time it has wanted for nothing. The car is completely rust free, structurally solid and mechanically perfect.
It has been regularly maintained to a high standard by a reputable Evo garage, including frequent services and mechanical inspections. Four years ago it underwent a light underbody restoration to remove any minor surface rust and refresh the paintwork. It was then clear sealed to preserve and showcase the quality of the workmanship. The underside was refreshed again in late 2023 to keep it in excellent rust-free condition. For its age, the bodywork, interior and paint are all in very good condition with only minor age related marks. The car is mostly original, but prior to my ownership was mapped to a safe and reliable 380bhp and 340lbft, including bolt on upgrades using the following parts:
- C-Tec manifold
- Garrett GTX30R twin scroll turbo
- 3 port boost solenoid
- HKS mushroom filter
- Mongoose 3" front pipe
This car fortunately includes air conditioning and electric windows which were added back in as factory options, a rare feature of the RS models. It also has the upgraded MR alcantara seats, front Brembo 4 pot calipers (paired with Godspeed J hook discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads), four new Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, and Bilstein MR suspension (with road friendly Eibach springs). The car was set up to be used for fast road and is very compliant.
The car comes with both keys and extensive paperwork, auction records and service documents. The import certificates and original service book are present but in Japanese. It has a faultless MOT history with the next one due June 2026.
Anyone familiar with Evo's knows how rare the 8 RS is, with only a few hundred examples ever being made. To find one in this condition and mileage is even rarer, and is a testament to the previous owners. The RS has no sound proofing, a mechanical front LSD, and lightweight everything. It is not a refined or subtle thing. It is however the most exciting and mechanically engaging car I have ever owned. A new business venture has lead to this very reluctant sale. Due to the value, power and rarity, I will be doing the test drives unless the funds have cleared my account. Priced to sell. Sensible offers and part exchanges at trade price considered.
