Description
2009 Audi A3 1.6 manual
Price: as listed
At time of posting this: 59,868 miles on the clock (this will likely rise a little as the car will be run here and there to keep charge in the battery)
For disclosure: this car WAS a Catergory D write off before I owned it (this isn't serious, usually purely due to cosmetic damage vs repair costs...I refer you to Google)
ULEZ compliant, low milage for its age...sale is due to lack of use and NOT need of money...FRESH MOT today (27/11/2024) with no issues.
ONE key...no spare...this is what I got when I bought it.
The "listy stuff" :
Some bodywork issues on both rear wheel arches....one came with the car, the other was a result of a scrape from a HGV on J31 roundabout back in 2020 just before covid. With lockdown, the repair was taking forever to sort, and so the (non fault) claim was withdrawn. This damage is a little unsightly (close up) but does not affect how the car runs and drives. (Pictures included)
Maintainance:
Last service 8/9/2024:
Spark plugs
Oil filter
Air filter
Pollen filter
Engine oil change
ABS Unit (factory origional) repaired and reconditioned following an age related fault
Fresh brake pads all round 8/9/24
Brake fluid change 8/9/24
New windscreen wipers 8/9/24
New windscreen washer jet motor (approx 14 months ago)
CV boot replacement due to wear 9/9/24
Passenger door locking mechanism replaced 9/09/2024 (common fault)
Cam belt and water pump NOT replaced during the recent service as this car is hardly used and both are in good, strong working order...the milage on today's MOT certificate reflects this (image attached) These were last changed a few years ago now so keep this in mind depending on how often you will use the car IF you buy it!
Air con not working....I believe its down to a compressor issue. One rear shock misting.
Gearbox:
New layshaft bearing installed 18th May 2019 (common issue) at 42,632 miles (done by audi themselves by their master mechanic) Images available on request as I got to watch!
New throttle body and attaching wiring following a nasty ESP fault in early 2019 (I think!..one of the only things I haven't documented with this car, so this is approximate)
Another new throttle body in late 2022/early 2023
Overall this little thing runs sweet and drives smoothly and comfortably. This is NOT a speed machine, it's built for economy BUT gets upto speed well on motorways when it's already moving. Naturally aspirated (non turbo)
