Description
Excellent condition throughout. Super solid body (check the MOT history). Five previous owners, previous owner had it for 17 years. New MOT, with no advisories. Thick history file with MOT certificates going back to 1998. Original handbooks + service book.
Unique interior, original quartet fabric accompanied by alcantara, in my opinion it looks far better than standard trim. Car did suffer from the usual paint fade, so I had a full respray back in 2023, hopefully the pictures do it justice.
Recently had new rad, Baker BM gear linkage and bushes, ignition leads and other bits and pieces. Car comes with two full sets of unmarked alloys with excellent tyres, I alternate between the 1.6 and 1.9 alloys. I do have the original clarion radio, but I replaced it with a period looking Blaupunkt Madrid.
I've had 205's on and off for the past 30 years, this is my sixth. I still can't find anything else that's more fun to drive. I purchased this one 3 years ago when I retired, I'm now spending more and more time in Spain so I have decided that the time is right for someone else to enjoy J595 MLW.
With all cars of this age part of the deal is tinkering. There are 2 jobs that a new owner may wish to tackle. I've had the drivers door card off multiple times, the door locks from the inside without any problem but it doesn't lock with the key, I've tried a new lock without success. The other job is the sunroof vacuum seal, I don't use the sunroof so I've never bothered looking at it.
